Botox Cosmetic Injections
Conveniently located to serve San Diego, Oceanside, CA and Carlsbad, CA
Botox® Cosmetic is a popular injectable medication that reduces or eliminates “eleven lines,” forehead creases, crows feet, and thick neckbands resulting in smoother skin and a more refreshed appearance. At North Coast Plastic Surgery, we offer Botox in San Diego for men and women who are looking for a non-surgical way to rejuvenate the natural beauty of their faces.
What is Botox Cosmetic Treatment
Botox® is the cosmetic form of botulinum toxin used to block the nerve impulses to muscles that cause lines and wrinkles within the face. The results – smoother skin and more refreshed appearance. Studies have also suggested that Botox is effective in relieving migraine headaches, excessive sweating and muscle spasms in the neck and eyes.
Botox® Cosmetic Treats:
- Frown lines – “Eleven Lines”
- Crows feet
- Forehead furrows
- “Bunny Lines”
- Muscle bands within the neck
- Frown Lines
- Hyperhidrosis – excessive sweating
- Migraine headaches
- Blepharospasms
All facial movement (smiling, frowning, squinting and any other emotive motion) will ultimately lead to noticeable lines and wrinkles. These signs of aging can make you look older than your actual age, tired, or even angry. A quick injection of Botox is one of the safest treatments for the non-surgical improvement of facial lines and wrinkles resulting from everyday facial motion. Botox can also prevent to formation of line and wrinkles before they are permanently formed.
Enhancing the Results of Your Botox Treatment
To improve or optimize the results of Botox, injections can be used with chemical or laser peels, facial fillers, or microdermabrasion. New facial lines and wrinkles may be significantly reduced or prevented when combination treatments are used.
Your Botox will be administered at Dr. Greg Park‘s office in Oceanside, CA.
Are You a Candidate for Botox Treatment?
Botox Cosmetic can be used in patients 18 to 65 years of age to temporarily correct moderate to severe glabellar lines (“Eleven Lines”) caused by muscles located between the eyebrows (corrugator and procerus muscle). It is also indicated for the improvement of crows feet. If you have wrinkles or lines on the smooth part of your forehead above and between the brows (the glabella), or lines around the outer part of the eyes, you’ll see results with Botox Cosmetic.
What you Should Know Before Your Botox Injections
Botox will not improve all skin problems. While it can reduce wrinkles and lines around the face, it will not improve damage to the skin due to sun, smoking, gravity, or skin diseases. Botox can be affected by skin thickness, type, and degree of wrinkling. A qualified plastic surgeon is the best person to evaluate the appropriateness of this treatment for you personally.
“
Dr. Park is my go-to Botox doc and I highly recommend him. His office is beautiful, his staff is always pleasant and helpful and I’m always seen on time.
He is honest and never tries to up-sell. As a matter of fact, he has advised me against procedures, stating that they were either not necessary or that I wouldn’t see dramatic enough results for the price.
His injections are as pain free as possible and I have never been disappointed with the results!

Botox Treatment Recovery
Depending on the number of lines or wrinkles that need Botox injections, your treatment generally takes between 5 to 15 minutes. Injections may cause minor and temporary discomfort similar to receiving a flu shot. After an injection, you may have slight swelling and redness that quickly resolves. There are no restrictions in regular activities immediately after your treatment. However a note of caution: We recommend that you don’t touch the injection sites for 12 hours after your Botox treatment because it may cause the botulinum toxin to migrate to other parts of the face. If this occurs, you may experience unwanted, temporary facial weakness or drooping.
What can you expect after your Botox Cosmetic injections?
- The effects are not immediate. It takes about 72 hours to one week to see full results
- Botox® is not permanent and requires repeated injections, usually every 3-4 months
- If a line or wrinkle persists following treatments, this may indicate the need for additional treatments (laser skin resurfacing, injectable fillers, chemical peels) to help smooth persistent lines
Botox Special Considerations and Risks
If there is any indication of an infection at a potential injection site, injection of Botox should be delayed until the site is normal and healed. In addition, if you have a history of hypersensitivity or allergy to Botox or another botulinum product, Botox Cosmetic should not be used.
Although generally safe, botulinum toxin side effects and complications can include:
- Bruising and pain at the injection site
- Redness
- Headache
- Flu-like symptoms
- Nausea
- Temporary facial weakness or drooping
- Very rarely, the toxin can spread beyond the treatment area, which can cause botulism-like signs and symptoms such as breathing problems, trouble swallowing, muscle weakness and slurred speech.
Botox Treatment Cost
The price of your Botox treatment can vary based on the number of areas being treated and the amount of Botox needed to provide you with the results you are looking for. Financing options are available.
